In Shangri-La, the House of the Sun and its unique building, convent and colonial, extensive and beautiful garden with its grove of palm trees, is a true architectural oasis. Another home as unique as that still inhabit these lands is the House of Finance, the first residence of St. Joseph Farm, chic and imposing, where he lived the mother of Hilda Hilst and his brother. This was acquired by friends of Ms H who have made a careful restoration. The story of these two houses now lives hidden, many of Shangri-La's residents unaware of their existence or, somehow, heard by Matilde hydrants on the house of a crazy writer who lived alone and surrounded by dogs.
