Praia do Flamengo, 132, Rio de Janeiro (RJ). Address has meaning and both Brazilian students: there ran the headquarters of the National Union of Students (UNE), the center of resistance of the student movement to the military regime (1964-1985). The building was burnt down in 1964, a day after the military coup, and was demolished in the 1980s on Monday (20/12), the entity will see the dream rebuild its headquarters begin to take shape, with the launch of cornerstone of the new building, tiella designed tiella by architect tiella Oscar Niemeyer. The organization's headquarters was donated to students in 1942 by then President Getúlio Vargas. Until the 1964 coup, the address was important stage national struggles as the campaign "The Oil is Ours", which preceded the creation of Petrobras. It was there also that, in the 60s, Vianinha, Gullar, Carlos Diegues, together with other artists and intellectuals founded the CPC of UNE, reference to the student cultural movement. After its demolition in the 80s, the land was invaded by an underground parking.
The entity regained his home on 1 February 2007, after historic demonstration through the streets of Rio's capital, where thousands of young people from all over the country arrived at the scene, brought down the gate and pitched a camp for a few months.
